Planning and Writing a Paragraph about Insect Characteristics

In this lesson, second graders continue their knowledge building on insects by applying what they have learned about insects characteristics to figure out if a given animal is an insect or not. They then write a paragraph about the characteristics of insects, focusing on writing a topic sentence and planning the paragraph before writing. This lesson is adapted from Fishtank.
