Considering Author’s Purpose

This lesson begins with students reading and summarizing a text about the importance of language. Students then read about a protest at Ft. Sill Migrant Detention center by Japanese American Incarceration survivors and descendants and consider what the author’s purpose in the article is and how she meets that purpose.
